Black men this is your conscience speaking

A couple of weeks ago on i was reading a very informative blog, we all have had to witness the beat down of the black man and woman over the past century and years beyond.

In the midst of all this madness and ranting from both parties, I thought it would be great to remind us of the real truth about black women:

Black men black women have ONE simple request!

Dear black men,

The statement written above is a testament to the strife, struggles and hardships black women are currently battling everyday, and no matter how much we cuss you out, tell you we don’t need you or your love and act like we can carry the weight of the word on our back’s…black men, we NEED you.

We don’t just want you…we NEED you. The black nucleur family is not whole without your presence, and our children need fathers and yes…we NEED you as our lovers, providers and protectors.

But in NEEDING you, we don’t NEED to go back to the past of walking behind you socially, emotionally and physically. We don’t NEED to go back to a caveman like society where women weren’t given the respect to thrive as individuals and reach for the stars on our own accord. What we NEED is for you to help usher us into the 21st Century, which we are very ready to take over no matter what obstacle, but we don’t want our men to be obstacles…we NEED you to be right there with us.

Black men, the one simple request black women have for you, is this: We NEED you to help us be STRONG so we can conquer the world together.

Now even though Lincoln is rabidly Anti-Black History Month, I do believe it’s better than nothing and I support learning about our culture’s heritage no matter how restricting it is. I asked him if I could contribute something and he said “only if it will get people thinking” so I have decided to speak from the heart and focus on our “Black Future” instead of just “Black History.” Black men, black women love you for everything you are: Your strength, beauty, humour, intelligence and willingness to stay driven in a society that fights you down constantly. But what we NEED f

or you to do is put us back in the forefront of your lives and stop relegating us to the role of nagging, annoying b*tches.

We NEED you to be Fathers and not baby-daddy’s.

We NEED you to be Lovers and not players.

We NEED you to be Leaders and not followers.

& We NEED you to be businessmen, owners & founders, doctors, lawyers, engineers, scientists, architects and professors and not always rappers, hustlers, ball-players or dope-boys, because young black women are getting it together and sometimes we frankly feel lonely as if it’s just us alone.

We know there are great black men out there, and we NEED to look forward to the bright future we have as a people. Black women don’t want to be your “girl”, your “partna”, your “main-chick” or your “boo”…we NEED to be your WIFE.
